Not “New Old
Stock”
DuKane Ionovac Replacement Cell Kits are now available again after almost 40 years - only at Ionovac.com. These are new DuKane Ionovac cell kits, not old stock. With the generous assistance of the original DuKane engineer assigned to the testing of Ionovac cells and electrodes back in 1960, we have duplicated the DuKane cell kits and made them available again. Recently discovered proprietary DuKane manufacturing information, long thought to be lost, was obtained and carefully studied to make this possible.
These new cells and electrodes are made to better than original factory specifications using the finest modern manufacturing equipment. As you can see in the photo these new cells have a clearer smoother outer surface unlike the rough DuKane cell.

DuKane Ionovac Replacement Cell Kits are available now from stock but due to the startup costs there is a very limited supply. We can have more made but there is no assurance that we will if the demand doesn’t justify the expense.
Questions about the kits and how they were made are welcome. A cleaning kit and a detailed tutorial video on the disassembly, cleaning and replacement of Ionovac cells is included with the purchase of two or more kits. Cleaning kits and videos are available separately. Because of complete cell kit availability electrodes are no longer available separately.

The Ceramic Retaining bar does not have to be replaced along with the cell kit. We have discovered through personal experience that the ceramic bar can be broken if the cell is not removed properly
DuKane Ionovac Replacement Cell Kits Installation Notes
Follow the printed instructions or the video tape, if you have it, for installation of a new electrode or cell kit. Break-in for a new electrode takes approximately 100 hours of operation. During this time the plasma may be unstable with singing and an orange glow will be seen at the very center until the tip burns back to normal. This is part of the break-in process in order that your electrode will have the maximum life. The point may develop a bright orange or white glow with little to no bluish aura. If the point overheats shut it off and let it cool for 15 minutes then try again. If tip overheating continues during break-in, burnish the end lightly with a 300 grit sandpaper. Do not file, scrape or otherwise grind the end of the electrode. Light sanding is sufficient.
Personal Note from Jack
I personally own several pairs of Ionovacs and I listen to them daily. I replaced my cells and electrodes. Sonically they are excellent. I am very familiar with the Ionovac sound. The new cell kits provide incredible detail and are very smooth.
